Hi! I’m Lindsay, the creator of Om Proofreading. As a bona fide word nerd, I love crossword puzzles and relish the opportunity to help others perfect their writing.
I also have a passion for working with children. Before starting Om Proofreading, I spent six years teaching at a bilingual Montessori school in Costa Rica.
Recognizing my keen eye for detail, the school’s director put me in charge of proofreading the written communication sent to parents.
When we needed parents to send a change of clothes for their child, I wanted to make sure we asked them to send an extra T-shirt and pair of shorts, instead of an extra T-shit and pair of shorts.
Just one little letter refusing to make an appearance in a word can make quite a difference!
Those years spent serving as the occasional “unofficial proofreader” were invaluable in sharpening my eagle eyes and honing my proofreading skills.
After leaving my job as a teacher, I decided to obtain formal training to become a proofreader. I wanted to use my love of words to help others polish their prose.
As a trained proofreader, I now have professional experience proofreading many kinds of texts.
